Local tools. Clear data choices.
Image, PDF, text, and many developer tools process content in your browser. Network tools send requests to external services; some local tools download processing libraries. This site also uses analytics and advertising. Tool inputs are not included in the optional tool-outcome metrics.
Read how data is handledHow UtilByte handles your files
Most online converters upload your file to a server, process it there and promise to delete it afterwards. UtilByte does the work in the browser tab you already have open, so there is nothing to delete and nothing to trust.
Processing runs on your machine
Image, PDF and video tools use WebAssembly builds of the same libraries a desktop app would — pdf-lib for PDFs and ffmpeg.wasm for video. Speed depends on your CPU, not on our queue.
Works offline once loaded
Open a tool, disconnect from the network, and it still works. That is the simplest proof that your file is not going anywhere — and it is a test you can run yourself in about ten seconds.
