Privacy Policy

Your privacy is our top priority. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Introduction

At UtilByte, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.

By using UtilByte, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Tool processing and optional measurements

Each tool explains whether it processes locally, connects directly to an endpoint, or uses a hosted service. Request Catcher stores requests and Local Proxy can forward them; clearing a bin removes its request rows but does not control provider logs or backups. No automatic expiry is implemented in the supplied service code.

Pins, recent tool IDs, and layout preferences are stored in your browser. Tool inputs are not saved in those preferences. Explicit transfers between local JSON tools are held briefly in memory and are not placed in URLs.

Optional tool-outcome metrics use tool IDs, fixed event and error names, and coarse size/duration buckets. They do not include input, filenames, tokens, free-text searches, or copied results. Runtime session replay, console capture, and error-event delivery are disabled. Site analytics and advertising are described below.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Files selected in local image and PDF tools are processed in your browser, rather than collected as uploads.
  • Requests you submit using network tools are sent to the endpoints or hosted services used by those tools. The online compiler runs code in your browser and downloads the Python runtime when needed.
  • Usage data and preferences
  • Feedback and support requests

Automatically Collected Information

  • IP address and geolocation data
  • Browser type and version
  • Device information
  • Usage patterns and analytics data
  • Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies

We use cookies for analytics, for site functionality, and — on pages that carry advertising — for ad serving and measurement. Third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or your IP address to collect information, as a result of ads being served on this site. See Advertising below for the detail and for how to opt out. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

How We Use Your Information

Service Provision

  • To provide and maintain our services
  • To process your files and generate results
  • To improve service performance

Analytics & Improvement

  • To analyze usage patterns
  • To improve user experience
  • To develop new features

Data Processing & Location

Processing Depends on the Tool

Image, PDF, text and video transformations run in your browser. Network tools send data to the endpoints described in each tool’s processing disclosure.

Data Location:

Your device for local tools; disclosed endpoints for network tools

Processing:

Browser-based or network-based, as labeled

Data Sharing & Third Parties

Local processing and third-party services

We do not sell or trade your personal information. Local file tools do not intentionally upload selected file contents. API Client, Request Catcher, Local Proxy and WebSocket Client transmit data as disclosed. Analytics and advertising partners receive standard technical data about your visit — described below.

Analytics Services

Vercel Analytics is integrated for page analytics. Google Analytics and Tag Manager load when configured. These services may collect technical information about your visit.

For more information about how Google Analytics collects and processes data, please visitGoogle's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

UtilByte is free to use and is supported by advertising on some pages. We work with Google, which uses the DoubleClick advertising cookie, and may work with other advertising partners in future. Any additional partner will be named here before it goes live.

  • Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • Advertising partners may also use web beacons, your IP address, or similar identifiers to collect information as a result of ads being served here.
  • Ad serving never involves the files you process. Those stay in your browser.

How to opt out

  • Opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings.
  • Opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Opting out of personalised advertising does not remove ads. You will still see ads, they will simply be less relevant to you.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are set, through a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time using the privacy settings link in the site footer.
